It is a common annoyance in women ?vaginal yeast infection.? But do you know exactly what is a vaginal yeast infection? The actual term health: fungal infection, also known as thrush is candidiasis.

Candidiasis is a fungal infection that are related to the genus Candida, which is basically a yeast like imperfect fungi of the genus Candida.

While all living people have some type of yeast that live in them, the yeast does not grow normally in excess due to microorganisms that occur naturally in the body.

In people who are able to develop an immune response after exposure to an antigen, candidiasis may be more often only if they are in areas not protected and moist.

These may include the mouth, vagina and around the folds of the skin of a child wearing a diaper (also known as diaper rash.) Candidiasis is more common in the vagina as vaginal irritation or vaginitis.

Experiencing a vaginal yeast infection is not pleasant at all and, unfortunately, at least three quarters of all women experience a vaginal yeast infection at some point in their lives.

Almost all women have candida albicans in the vagina and usually cause no problem. When the balance in the vagina is not as balanced as it should be like normal organisms, an individual may experience excessive growth and resulting in the symptoms of a yeast infection.

The most common symptoms experienced vaginal yeast infection include extreme itching or slight of the vagina (may include the vulva), a discharge of white or gray and a smell that is similar to the active yeast and baking bread in or beer.

A number of factors that may increase the risk of developing a vaginal yeast infection and pregnancy, showers, certain antibiotics and diabetes mellitus.

The first time a woman suspected of having a vaginal yeast infection should visit your doctor for an accurate diagnosis. A single swab or scraping the affected area with a solution of KOH is on a slide under a microscope.

Once the diagnosis of vaginal yeast infection has been made, your doctor will recommend a treatment of choice, but there are many options available.
