This must be a bit embarrassing for Apple. Apple has revealed a new patent for a gaming controller and that controller looks pretty identical to a PlayStation DualShock controller. On the other hand if this patent becomes an actual controller, that could mean that Apple will soon be entering the core gaming market.
The patent was originally filed in March and the controller will be used with all of the Apple gear you would expect: iPhones, iPads and the Apple TV. Imagine Apple TV becoming a gaming console. Does that get you excited?
With a new controller like this, gamers might take the games more seriously and put them on par with the PS3, Wii or Xbox 360. The patent details a wireless connection using RFID (Radio Frequency Identification). The game console companies might have some serious competition soon.
