Vegas Odds Favor Robert Griffin III as AP/NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III is currently the odds-on favorite to win the Associated Press and the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Griffin is slightly ahead of Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck and Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson, according to two online betting websites, BetUSA and ScoresandOdds.com.

The announcement of the 2012 league awards, NFL Honors, are scheduled in a two-hour prime-time special airing on CBS on Feb. 2 from 9 p.m. ET to 11 p.m. ET, the night before Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans.

Currently RGIII is listed as the favorite with odds of 5-6, followed by Luck (11-10), Wilson (9-2) and Tampa Bay running back Doug Wilson listed at 50-1.? No other players were listed and the field is also 50-1.

Seven awards will be announced during the broadcast including the NFL Most Valuable Player, Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year, Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year, Coach of the Year, Comeback Player of the Year and the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award, which recognizes a player for their charitable contributions, public service and onfield performance.

The awards are voted upon by a select group of 50 members of the media who cover the NFL.

All three leading candidates for the Rookie of the Year Award were quarterbacks who led their teams to at least 10 wins and a berth in the 2012 playoffs. ?The trio are also among the top NFL players in consideration for the league's MVP award. ?The same oddsmakers favor Denver quarterback Peyton Manning for what is considered the NFL's biggest honor.
